Since publishing his debut work Adam's Return in 1993, he has written 88 short stories and over 20 full-length novels, totaling nearly 6 million words. His works have received numerous awards, including the China Science Fiction Galaxy Award (including the Galaxy Award Lifetime Achievement Award), the Chinese Science Fiction Nebula Award (including the Nebula Award Lifetime Achievement Award), the Tencent Academy Literature Award, the JD Literature Award, and the Wu Cheng'en Novel Award. Many of his works have been translated into English, Italian, Japanese, Korean, German, and other languages, earning him great popularity among readers worldwide as well as in the film and television industry. Short film adaptations of his works have won multiple international awards. He is hailed as "the thinker of Chinese science fiction."
