Ten years ago, Daniel J. Mount thought: "If I started writing about Southern Gospel, would anyone care?"He decided that the only way to find out was to try. So he launched SouthernGospelBlog.com in September 2006. (The name changed to Southern Gospel Journal in 2014).Over the eight years the site was active, he wrote over a million words about this unique genre of music. At its peak, the site had over 3,000 unique visitors per day. In 2013, its final full year of operation, it had over a million cumulative daily visitors.Daniel shares: "A news website is inherently ephemeral.
