This Brookside Community Garden Club first edition of "Southern Delight Recipes" cookbook is a unique way of preserving the irreplaceable memories of our seniors for Friends and Family. Brookside is a Community of seniors in a unique environment for seniors living in independent households. Also available is assisted living facilities. Brookside has a multiple campus layout, and is nestled in the deep South historic city of Mobile, Alabama.By preserving these cherished recipes that have been handed down for generations in the Southeastern United States, we have established a lasting connection with our foretathers, and documented our history and culture. These cooking techniques and recipes are the true treasures typically eroded with time and lost as our lives move forward.In presenting the recipes that belonged to these past "gracious ladies", we have tried to adapt them to modern methods and measurements. And we have included information as to oven temperature and timing, along with helpful himts.This memorable cookbook is the product of every person who submitted recipes, along with the additional work of the cookbook committee.
