SoupChad

By Rich Samuels

Chad loves soup. Not just a little. Soup is practically his entire reason for living.

Salad? Absolutely not. Sandwiches? Why bother? As far as Chad is concerned, there's soup, and then there's everything else.

When Chad starts Soup Club at Wickshire Middle School, he's thrilled to discover that other kids share his passion. Before long, his new friends are proudly calling themselves Noodle, Chowder, and Spinach, and everyone wants to be part of the excitement.

But popularity has a way of going to Chad's head.

What begins as a harmless celebration of soup soon becomes something much bigger. Suddenly, eating salad is practically an act of betrayal, friendships are being tested, and Chad is convinced that anyone who doesn't agree with him must be against him.

And that's when the great Soup versus Salad War begins.

Can Chad bring his friends back together before his beloved Soup Club boils completely out of control?

Packed with ridiculous arguments, outrageous misunderstandings, and an increasingly absurd battle over what's for lunch, SoupChad is a humorous, illustrated middle school story about friendship, fitting in, and learning that being in charge doesn't always mean being right.

Featuring 11 original illustrations by Sam Rapp, SoupChad brings its eccentric characters and their lunchtime rebellion to life.

From the same fictional universe as the Alexander Adventures trilogy, SoupChad is a standalone story with its own cast of characters and plenty of comic trouble.
