A Shaman's Journey.

Discover the author's spiritual journey from the view of an Episcopal Priest to Shaman. The many different stories woven throughout this book help the reader become part of this journey. This is not a instructional book, even though it does have instructions on how to hold sacred ceremonies. Even though some of the stories left me wondering, I found lots of them to be quite exciting and helpful. Overall I would highly recommend this book to anyone involved in a Western Religion that is curious about the Shamanic path.

One of the best

As a student and practitioner of shamanic healing I found this book well written and very inspiring and insightful. I read it all in one day! It especially supported my interest in the power of ceremony.

Hear the Ring of Truth Even if You Never Suspected It

Peter lives near my hometown, where a feature newspaper article on his life journey appeared several months back. Quite unusually for me, when I read this article, I immediately said to my wife, "I've got to meet this guy!" A week before the last Sunday as I write this, I picked up the article and read it again. Consulting the oracle, I mean, the web, I located a site to learn more, then I read the book sample with four stories. Excited, I immediately bought this book, and have read it in the past week. Before that, I placed a call about a calendar event, and learned through Peter's wife, Astrid, of an opportunity to meet the two of them, as I now have. Happy serendipity! I've just finished reading this book and I cannot recommend it too highly. If you have ever had a mystical experience, whether of the spirit or of matter, if you have an illness you can't explain, if you think you half-recall a past life, if you have animal magnetism, or a series of dreams or coincidences, if you're haunted, if you love this earth and want to help protect it -- or, if you simply suspect, for any reason, there is more to this world and this life than you know so far -- then read this book as soon as you can, and you will have gained a pretty good clue. Peter Calhoun is a Saint Francis for our time, calling for the emergence of a hundred thousand more like himself to help save our world. For those whose minds are not trapped in a prison of "doctrine" and laid as a sacrifice on the chopping block of received and untested "belief," his work can serve as a pointer to the kind of truth that can really set you free.
