A True Anerican Hero!

Great book for anyone who want to know the daily work of a cop who cares and takes a stand in the inner city of Flint. This book is a real eye-opener and allows us to see another world that is hidden within our world. Great book for a humanities class. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to learn how one cop's soul touches the lives in his community. This man was the first person in Flint to receive the President's Volunteer Service Award. If people in America took a stand like Mr. Willigham did, our country would be a true utopian society.

Soul of a black cop, a book that everyone should read.

Great eye opening book. Althought it's sometimes difficult to read because of its disturbing truth, everybody should read this book. The author says it all, the way it really is, he is honest and lucid about whatever happens. Soul of a black cop is a must that should be read by all, especially politicians and decision makers, it shows us what we don't want to see in our society.

Wonderful insight into the American we turn our backs on.

This work is a powerful, thoughtful look at the social collapse of a society we most often ignore. Mr Willingham has created a provoking picture of America through his words; words of a cop, words of a father, words of a son, and a neighbor. This book is moving, often heart breaking, but always sincere.
