Wonderful!

Soul Moments is a must read. It feels both light and deeply meditative at the same time. It reminds me of eating salty sweet foods.

Reviewed by Beverly Pechin for Reader Views (7/06) Soul Moments is a wonderful collection of literally `moments' in the life of the author, Isabel Anders, which brought her a small sense of Heaven here on Earth. Anders writes in a style that will make you feel comforted and touched as she explains moments throughout her life, many of which we all have experienced, where she is simply touched to the soul with a feeling incomparable to any other feeling we have. Simply noted, it's a feeling of a "Soul Moment", a moment when God reminds us of Himself or of our future with him in Heaven. We've all had them, those moments where your body feels comforted deep into the heart. A literal feeling of having your very Soul touched. Moments like the birth of your child, or the day you spoke your wedding vows or simpler moments when it just happened upon you, perhaps as you're driving and glance out to see the precious faces of a group of young children at play. My favorite moment the author shared is one that I think many of us have had in our life, perhaps at different stages of our life but somehow we've probably all experienced it. The moment when you don't think, but you KNOW that your father knows everything. He can answer any question. He can fix anything in the world. He is simply the most perfect man you know. But then one day you too grow older and wiser and realize that Dad didn't really know all the answers. Instead he helped you find the answer. Helped you experience the world in a way that simply told you the answer to a question you longed to find the answer to. I loved that the book contained stories short enough to enjoy and have the ability to put down during a busy day. It gave you the comfort of feeling a small sense of God within your heart while not keeping you tied down in one spot. Easy to take along with you on the run and read as you go. It was deep, yet light enough that when the kids popped in all starving you could put the book down and pick it up later, coming right back to the feeling you had when you left it. With her excellent writing style, Anders somehow makes you not only understand those moments in her life when she felt soulful but brought you into them yourself to feel just as touched by God's works. A deep, thoughtful and intelligently written book to bring you in touch with your life and your surroundings, making you realize how lucky we are. Simply put, it was a "Soul Moment" in itself, reading each and every page.

Wisdom for today's weary soul! I read this during a particulary rough week of illness and stress and found that my spirit was nurtured and my body felt peaceful. Isabel Anders has a knack for reaching deep into the hidden places and filling them with blessings. I recommend this one!
