excellent resource for families regarding end of life issues

Dr. Postley's book is easy and gentle reading about a subject that, I feel, our society does not speak about freely. By using his own experience, he shows that we all have the capacity to get through these difficult times in our own way. I think he gives excellent advice about how each patient, family and friends should deal with the medical profession; he gives good suggestions for questions that should be asked. As a medical student, it was enlightening to read about what it is like "on the other side." I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to know that others are going through similar experiences and how they dealt with their grief and difficult situations surrounding this.
an outstanding book on dealing with illness

This is a truly profound book about a doctor's perspectives on illness and death, largely revolving around his own mother's illness, but drawing lessons from it that are important for all of us. I would recommend this to anyone who has been touched by serious medical illness, and to anyone who needs their faith in the medical profession renewed
