"Before I saw dysfunction, abuse, and oppression, I lived as a normal child. In the cocoon of childhood, I enjoyed spending my time running around outside, but I especially loved retreating to my quiet room and drawing faces. Sometimes I would draw in class, hoping nobody would look at my drawings. They were meant for me- a kind of cathartic release of emotions as I drew and told a story within my mind. I freed these caricatures, but I also gave them each a happy story and history." When life turned gray and I grew a little older, my art, as well as my idyllic childhood, became remnants of a bygone era. During the last few years, I have finally been able to merge my long-lost passion for creating illustrations with my aptitude for writing and introversion. I hope others might find some redeeming value in my work.
