Mahri, a sorceress from the distant lands of Omhri, is in search of a mystical crystal, known as the Heart of Omhri, that was secreted away by her father before he was murdered. With the crystal, anyone with magical powers would become immensely powerful. The sorcerer who murdered her father has spawned an army which is about to attack Avadar, believing that is where the crystal will be. Now Mahri must get there first to ensure that he does not obtain and corrupt the power of the crystal.

Along the way, she encounters a warrior named Bengar who is looking to avenge the murder of his brother, and a princess named Ariadne who has been called home by her father. These three travelers find themselves drawn into a war that is being spurred on by the same wizard who murdered Mahri's father, all as part of his effort to obtain the Heart of Omhri. Each of them brings their own contributions to thwarting his nefarious plans.

"Sorcerer's Scourge" is the first book in the "Three for Avadar" series. Each of these books will follow a different one of these three travelers as they fulfill their individual destinies, which are all entwined with the future of a land called Avadar.
