Perfection is the tune of Sophia's dance, and has been since she was a little girl. Now, with her family moving across the world for her to join the newly established Ballet House of New York, she finds herself under more scrutiny and pressure than she has faced before. It is up to her to dance her way into the circle of the New York City elite and secure her family's future in America.

Sophia believes she can manage the grueling dance schedule and demands of her new life, but it all begins to overwhelm her. When her dance partner offers her a solution that will give her the energy she needs to keep up with her own life, she says yes, desperate and unaware of the danger she is embracing.

Alex, the spirited stage manager, represents everything Sophia is not and cannot afford to be. He asks questions that Sophia is afraid to answer, and he looks at her as if he can see the things she keeps carefully hidden away. Yet, everything he says stirs a longing inside of Sophia that she has never dared to examine.

When addiction takes control of her life and everything begins to crumble, Sophia is forced to choose. Will she continue to dance on the stage set for her by everyone else, or will she finally find the courage to dance to the tune of her own melody?
