Sooty & Blackie's Adventure: A Camping Adventure with Nanny Anne and Her Grandchildren

By: Prendergast, Anne

Sooty & Blackie's Adventure is the first in a delightful new children's picture-book series from Irish author Anne Prendergast. Inspired by almost four decades of family storytelling, these tales capture the joy, safety, and imagination of childhood before screens and tablets.

In this opening adventure, two mischievous blackbirds, Sooty and Blackie, follow Nanny Anne and her five grandchildren on a camping trip. With bikes strapped to the van, a shiny motorcycle glinting in the sun, and excitement in the air, the children soon discover that adventure also means learning how to stay safe. Along the way, playful rhymes and gentle lessons remind young readers of the importance of friendship, care, and looking out for one another.

Beautifully illustrated in full colour with bonus pages including poems, rhymes, and a colouring activity, Sooty & Blackie's Adventure is perfect for shared reading with children aged 4-8. A heart-warming blend of imagination, laughter, and love, it's a book that families will return to again and again.
