Rock, a thirteen year old kid that has a dad in the NAVY, is constantly moving, is totally tired of it. On the other hand, his brother Cliff is actually fine with it. But Rock is so tired of it that he makes a highly detailed plan to run away from home. But of course, Cliff is totally against it. So Rock is determined to work around it. Rock has some support from his friend May. She wants to run away with him. He is not exactly sure why, but he thinks that it is because she has some problems of her own at her house between her and her father. But it is not going to work without the support of Cliff. So he is going to do whatever it takes to convince him to come. So I can't wait to read on further in the book. My favorite quote was' "His fingers wrapped tight around his paper. He'd add even more things to it, maybe, when they get to Arizona. And then he'd send a copy to Ms.Manzuli when he was done, like Cliff said. His free hand fumbled with the door handle, yanked open the door, and crawled into the small, empty space that his brother had created for him. There was so much left so much left to write. Because a revolution is a strange and complicated thing, no matter how well you try to explain it." This is my favorite quote because it truly shows how true authors have different points of views. In this case, this author thinks strongly that change is annoying to him. I used to feel like this, but now I have changed my opinion due to an attitude change (I think).And also, I know of many authors that feel like change is a wonderful thing. I think that this author has writing techniques this is way out of other writer's leuges. It seems as if she has spent 1 of 9 of her cat lives just to make corrections. And it will blow a thesaurus out of the water is one saw the amount of her synonyms. It is as if she will never have to write another book if this one gets 'recognized'. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone interested in a book that is mind-blowing awesome!!! And to anyone that likes a genius for an author.

Trying to save the familey

My book is about a 13 year old boy named Rock. He has lots of problem she has a father that is vary abousive,and has a mother that is agoraphobic. He has a friend named Cliff and he got a new friend named Liza. Cliff is trying to get the familey bake together and at the end of the book Liza moves away and the familey has gotten bake together and the dad is not that abusive anymore .

A Very Inspiring Book

Adele Griffin has a true gift. This novel just grabs you by the collar and pulls you in. Her dialogue is truly inspired. One of the best children's/young adult books I have read in a long time!

What an amazing book!

As a middle school teacher, I am constantly searching for books like Sons of Liberty. Adele Griffin writes about themes that will grab a seventh grader and she does so with careful attention to each sentence. Not once does Ms. Griffin try to pull a weak sentence over her young audience's eyes. For teachers interested in this book, Sons of Liberty would fit nicely into a psychology unit or into a unit dealing with the start of the American Revolution.
