Riveting, Full of Adventure and Emotion

I was expecting nothing less than this amazing tie of biblical history and human connection!! My favorite part of this book is how Francine Rivers takes male perspectives and experiences and shows us what it may have been like to step into their shoes. I got the like new book for around $12 and it was completely worth it. I am almost through and have cried happy and sad tears with every story. The Priest gave me a new idea of what Aaron was going through as Moses brother. The Warrior was a riveting tribute to Caleb (Kelubai) who rallied with Joshua and The Prince was my most memorable so far as it was a tribute to Jonathon Saul’s oldest son and what he went through having to watch his father toil with envy and greed to kill his beloved friend David. All the while staying loyal to God. Wow!!! I am so excited to read the last two, The Prophet and The Scribe. Cannot recommend this enough!!!

One of the best books ever!

I thoroughly enjoyed reading each story about Godly men of the Bible! Reading the story I would recall the scriptures from the Bible and like a puzzle the pieces would falling to place! This left me with a feeling that these were men created by God for a Devine purpose with human feelings and faults but encouraged forward by God! Even though these stories are fictional, the characters are not. Reading this book has given me a greater understanding of God's word and I feel that His message is clearer having read Sons of Encouragement. Whenever I read one of Francine Rivers books I know I am going to be fed because they also always have me jumping between the pages of her book and the pages of my Bible. Isn't that what biblical fiction should do? Francine never disappoints. I am usually hard-pressed to name a favorite, but the story about Amos touched me so deeply. I had previously read the biblical account, but this time Francine's story had me digging and growing, hungry for the next verse in scripture of this remarkable book of the Bible
