Lena Burks-Britton is a "technician" turned "creative". As a playwright, she has produced "Crawfish & Hairy Worms", "In Search of Sarah" and "It takes One to Know One". As a poet, her breakout collection of original poems "Songs in the Key of Misery" has received glowing reviews. In another life, she escaped rural Mississippi with her sharecropper family bound for the Midwest. There she graduated from the University of Kansas and enjoyed a productive career as a certified public accountant. Her proudest accomplishment is that of mother and grandmother.
