Excellent beginning school text

"Son et Sens" was the beginning text used by my NY State school in the late 70s, and is outstanding. Very clear, logically ordered lessons, introducing new vocabulary through text / dialogues, then supported by grammar excercises. In particular, I liked the themes introduced in each chapter (meetings, traveling, family, cooking, etc.) which cleverly built on previous chapters to reinforce vocabulary and usage. I have used many other texts while studying French, Russian, and Italian (over 20 years), and none of them compare to the logical and well planned approach to beginning French of "Son et Sens." In fact, I continue to purchase this text for friends who are starting their study of French.
