When Dr. Michael "Mick" Goodart goes to Hillview Assisted Living facility for his initial visit with a new patient, Mr. Daniel Sims, he is shocked to be identified as Simon Norris, Mr. Sims' best childhood friend who was killed in an automobile accident 50 years earlier. As Mick learns more and more about Simon's short golf career from Daniel, and Daniel believes Simon has been reincarnated in the person of Mick Goodart, a special relationship evolves between the two men. As Mick becomes more obsessed with the idea of reincarnation, he feels that the only way to break its spell is to advance further in the Rocky Mountain Amateur Golf Championship than Simon did because of his premature death. Michael Carrigan was born in Midland, TX but raised and educated in Roswell, NM. He graduated from high school and junior college at New Mexico Military Institute and received his B.S.degree with honors from New Mexico State University. Now retired, Carrigan's professional career was spent mostly in the agri-chemicals industry with ELANCO, American Cyanamid, BASF, and DuPont. However, he also served as ESL instructor in Mongolia and as agricultural advisor to Anbar Provincial ReconstructionTeam while attached to the 5th Regimental Combat team Marines in Iraq. Carrigan currently lives in Windsor, CO with his wife, Sandi, and is close by both of their daughters, five grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
