Arriving in Salida shortly after a murder has been committed, a family-run Shakespeare troupe begins their contracted performances at the town amphitheatre. However, Mustardseed Productions is no ordinary group of actors; the Kindleys-a mother and her three daughters who run the troupe-are witches and the rest of the cast and crew includes other supernatural entities and ordinary humans who share a passion bordering on obsession for The Bard. The acting is the easy part. The daughters' primal instincts as embodiments of the classical furies drive them to seek vengeance for those who have been wronged. When a witness to the murder, a small supernatural cat, seeks them out, the troupe inserts themselves into the directionless investigation as, without a body, no one in charge knows for sure whether the missing woman has been murdered, abducted, or merely running away from her life. Between their performance obligations, being scrutinized by local police, and devising ways to find the body, the Mustardseed Production players and their newest feline actor must pull out all their acting skills to avenge the dead and bring her justice.
