Something, I Forget

By Angela Leighton

A poignant exploration of memory, loss, and the enduring power of place.

Angela Leighton's sixth collection of poems delves into the delicate dance between remembering and forgetting. From the ancient streets of Rome to the rugged landscapes of Yorkshire, and the haunting canals of Naples to the serene Fens, these poems set contemporary moments against a rich backdrop of history and myth.

These tightly woven verses explore themes of war, love, childhood, and aging, offering a unique perspective on the human experience. Leighton's words resonate with the touch of tangible things, transforming ordinary objects--a creaky lift, a glass harp, CDs on a tree--into memorials of something beyond themselves. Perfect for readers seeking reflective, emotionally resonant poetry.
