Someone Heard Everything
A murder recorded before it happens. A listener blamed before pressing play.
Forensic audio analyst Mara Ellis knows a voice can be cut, copied, and weaponized. But when a cassette arrives containing the murder of former Listening House administrator Claire Price twenty-four hours before it occurs, no edit can explain what Mara hears. Claire is alive. Her eighteen-year-old daughter, Lila, is missing. And the tape insists that everyone who listens has already authorized the killing.
Then Claire dies at the exact minute named on the tape.
More cassettes follow, each documenting another future murder. Every victim leads back to Listening House, the secret human network behind Aster, and to a hidden figure known as the First Listener: the only person who heard every stolen confession. As Mara, suspended detective Jonah Reed, and their fractured allies race through replica rooms, courthouse relays, and Seattle's industrial waterfront, they uncover a terrifying truth. The recordings do not predict murder. Someone is rehearsing it, then forcing reality to match.
To save Lila and stop a mass-casualty demonstration, Mara must identify the human mind behind the system before simply hearing the next tape makes her part of the crime.
Someone Heard Everything is Book Three in the Mara Ellis Thriller Series, a fast-paced psychological technothriller about artificial intelligence, surveillance, grief, and the dangerous difference between listening and consent. It delivers a complete central mystery and is best read after Someone Answered and Someone Is Listening.
