"Some Trust in Chariots" is a well written, honest account of the Challenger accident written by the Launch Director for that mission. All of us who were a part of the NASA/contractor team at the Kennedy Space Center, Johnson Space Center, Marshall Space Flight Center and others who were there and experienced it should read this book. We would all like to thank "Gene" Thomas for writing about "our" experience from his personal and spiritual viewpoint.

This book is must read for those who want to know the complete story behind the Challenger Accident. It is a search for the greater meaning behind personal tragedies. In this case, the personal tragedy was also a national tragedy. This is no outsider's perspective either, it is written by Challenger's Launch Director. Unlike other so-called "tell alls", Some Trust in Chariots is a detailed accounting of the facts and exposes several myths about the disaster which, in the past, have received way too much hype. This book is humble, faith-affirming and inspiring from cover to cover. Most importantly, it honors the incredible seven men and women who gave their lives in humankind's ongoing search to explore the heavens, encouraging us to keep reaching for the stars. -Dr. Charles J Thomas
