“Look how she moves. That’s like Jell-O on springs.”

Jerry and Joe (Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis) are not so bright womanizing musicians. They are always in the wrong place at the right time. They observe Spats Colombo (George Raft) on Valentine’s Day, dispatching Toothpick Charlie (George E. Stone), and must leave Chicago for their health.
They disguise themselves in drag, and the fun begins. I hope you like black and white movies. This one must have been remastered.
Even in black and white, Sugar Kane (Marilyn Monroe) can sing “Runnin' Wild” while on the train. (1922) Music by A.H. Gibbs Lyrics by Joe Grey and Leo Wood.
So, the one-legged jockey said, “Don’t worry about me, baby, I ride sidesaddle.”
As with many movies, if you listen, you will hear the title as part of a conversation. “Some like it hot.”
O.K. The plot thickens as Daphne (Jack Lemon) is pursued by Osgood Fielding III. Osgood (Joe E. Brown) likes girls with good ankles. Joe disguise as an oil millionaire (with an accent like Carry Grant) to woo Sugar (Marilyn Monroe).
On top of that, just when you think they pulled it off, Spats Colombo shows up in Miami for the “Friends of Italian Opera." Looks like the jig is up.
Interestingly enough, the whole movie was filmed in California.
Of course, this is not one of those movies that you have to watch again for what you may have missed in the fray.

Marlene Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon have great chemistry and the story moves along at a fast pace. Lots of laughs and twists and turns. The acting is superb and I have always felt that this was a better one of Monroe's movies. She is the bombshell but she actually appears slightly more intelligent than usual in this one. Lemmon and Curtis are hiding out as cute girl musicians after they witnessed a murder by the mob and their navigation of being her roomies on a train and in a hotel is hilarious. Great couples movie.
Very funny!

The audio on my copy wasn’t the best, but it was still really good! Silly old fashioned hijinks, a bit like Marx brothers meets a comedy of errors except everyone is one the run too.
