Fraser Murray, an RAF fighter pilot, seizes the opportunity to revisit the wilds of Canada and recall his youthful, formative years.

As a Scottish teenager, he had followed his best friend to Canada, only to discover that their friendship hadn't survived the journey. Alone, in more senses than one, he faced a clique at his new school which was hell-bent on making his life a misery. Warned off from doing well in class, with an impending public recital competition that would put him in the firing line, he couldn't hide from their unwelcome attention.

Now revisiting familiar sights, he recalled planning an escape that had started as a camping trip but resulted in an amazing, fortune-changing encounter. Helping hands emboldened him to plot a route to even the odds; however, there were cow-pats on the road.

His idea offered payback but needed his peer group to get their noses in the trough first. He had needed them to act true to form? He had hoped his guardian angel or St Christopher medallion would protect him on this perilous venture? Either way, the very thought made him chuckle still.
