Solid waste becomes a major problem when not properly managed, causing serious environmental and public health consequences. It is necessary to study the impacts caused by the improper disposal of this waste during Holy Week, as the city of Juazeiro do Norte has been suffering from an increase in its final volume of waste. This causes a series of inconveniences for the population and affects the quality of the environment. The objective is to learn more about the consequences of this increase in waste volume and what should be done by the population and authorities to minimise the problem. Through the analysis of the theme in studies and subsequent exploration of the same, the current situation of Juazeiro do Norte was analysed. Located in a strategic location connecting the main cities of southern Cear , its economic, religious and social development changed with the arrival of Padre C cero, who saw development potential in the small village.
