Solid Ground: Basic Christian Beliefs for New Believers

By Barry L Davis

You believed. You were baptized. Then someone handed you a Bible.

And somewhere in the days that followed, a question started forming. Now what?

You have joined a family that has been talking for two thousand years, and you walked in partway through the conversation. People around you use words nobody ever explained. They flip to books of the Bible you didn't know existed. And you may be too embarrassed to raise your hand and admit you have no idea what anyone is talking about.

Put your hand down. This book is the answer.

Solid Ground is a short course in what Christians believe and why. Thirteen chapters. Plain words. No assumptions about what you already know, and no talking down to you either.Inside you'll find: Thirteen chapters covering God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, sin, the cross, salvation, prayer, Scripture, the church, failure, and eternity48 theological terms defined in plain English, right on the page where you meet themMore than 100 study questions for personal reflection or group discussionA full chapter on what to do when you fail - the one most books leave out.Ideal for: new believers, new members classes, small groups, one-on-one discipleship, and ministers who need something solid to hand someone immediately after their baptism.

You are standing on solid ground, whether it feels like it yet or not. Let me show you.
