As her journey continues, Tricia processes the truth of her life and the overwhelming challenges she still endures. She is thankful that the healing process has begun but acknowledges the pain from the healing process is severe and at times unbearable. She finds the strength and courage to confront the issues caused by the residue from the abuse. She will face more heartache, dealing with separations, the loss of loved ones but she accepts challenges that life continues to hurl her way. She soon learns that loneliness appears in many forms.
As she matures, she accepts adulthood realities and finds a way to process the pain and uncertainties. Her new normal of making decisions alone proves to be very hard as she attempts to live life on her own. With limited emotional support she discovers its tougher than she thought or ever imagined. Unforeseen changes redirects life. Making decisions and being accountable is heart wrenching at times.
She learns to overcome obstacles, but her struggles are real. She relies on the secure relationship she has shared with her best friend Feleica who ironically is facing her own challenges. A super supporter at times overbearing mother figure 'Ms. Lola' still provides her guidance. She often refers to her as her 'tangible conviction' as she goes through life's ups and downs.
As Tricia enters this next phase in life, she is met with a different set of realities that she must maneuver through. This phase presents 'adult pain' on a level she had not experienced. Graduating high school, entering college, a steady boyfriend, but being in a committed relationship produces unexpected problems and causes her to hurt in unexpected ways.
She is constantly reminded of accepting her truth as the diamond is uncovered and she embraces her future, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Continue with me on her journey as her story reveals survival and hope as we chronicle the life of one determined young lady
