Soil Structure Interaction Effect On RRF Using Pushover Analysis

In the present study, a RC framed staging empty elevated tank is considered to evaluate the response reduction factor with and without considering the effects of flexibility of soil using sap2000 software. The evaluation of response modification factor is done using static nonlinearpushover analysis. Pushover analysis is an advanced tool to carry out static nonlinear analysis of framed structures. The response reduction factor (R) is depends on Over strength (Rs), Ductility (R ), Redundancy (RR).Value of R for reinforced concrete structure depends on the type of framing system. Proposed IS 1893 draft classifies framing into three categories i.e. 1) Ordinary Moment Resisting Frame (OMRF), 2) Intermediate Moment Resisting Frame (IMRF), and 3) Special Moment Resisting Frame (SMRF).The pushover curve which is a plot of base shear versus roof displacement, gives the actualcapacityof the structure in the non linear range.
