This book is the result of the research entitled "The social policies of the Panamanian state in the reduction of indigenous poverty in the decade 1995-2005. The case of the Guna Yala region" and which was the work developed by the authors to obtain a Master's degree in Social Sciences with emphasis in Sociology and Political Science, at the Universidad Especializada de Las Am ricas (UDELAS) in 2011. The work was the only winner of the contest "Publication of meritorious works of bachelor, master and doctorate sponsored by the National Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation (SENACYT) in the second call of 2011, for the "Support of new researchers in Social Sciences", in the Republic of Panama.
