Social dialogue is a process of communication, negotiation and cooperation between employers, workers and governments, aimed at reaching joint decisions on work-related issues. The key players in social dialogue are employers, workers and governments, although other stakeholders may also be involved. The objectives of social dialogue include collective bargaining, conflict resolution, the formulation of social and economic policies, the protection of workers' rights and the creation of fair working conditions. It can take different forms and take place at different levels, from the company to the national and international levels. Social dialogue offers many advantages, including promoting social peace, improving productivity and ensuring fair working conditions. However, it also faces challenges such as lack of trust between the parties and power imbalances.
