The chief goal of this book is to help make reading the classics more comprehensible for students. To that end, this book includes tiered readings for each of the poems on the IB syllabus for social criticism testing in 2019-2022. My hope is that you will find the way I have adapted the poems collected herein more readable than if you were reading them with glossed notes typically found in student readers. As you move through the tiers from easier to more complex, I hope you pay attention to the words that the poets have chosen to use and the order in which they have written them. I have purposefully ruined their hard work to make your life a little easier when it comes to understanding the poems in Latin. Please make sure you put the effort into understanding the poem as it was meant to be understood, because if you can, man do you have a treat waiting for you.
