Social Code - a novel: the online game to kill all online games . . . and your neighbor

Are you ready to play the most astonishing online game of all time? Play Social Code, the game to kill all online games.

Welcome to Social Code, the online game where your deepest social and spiritual needs are creatively fulfilled and your preferences are monitored for your own advancement.

The story follows Doby, a curious and resourceful software engineer as he enters into this virtual world that rapidly invades his computer and takes over his life.

The game introduces Doby to Lynnette, a sensual and shockingly intuitive character who seems to transcend her virtual identity in her interactions with him. But when Doby catches on to the devious design of the game hinging on the domination of its players, he resists the cult-like world and struggles to stay alive.

This brilliant book is prophetic, a prediction of where the internet world is headed, where an elite establishment uses technology to control the minds of the general population. This control is not only for directing buying habits but also for determining one's fundamental belief systems.

In Social Code, one lone computer hacker fights back against this insidious force. Be ready to identify with Doby, a cleaver 'geek' who confronts an organization that is on the verge of taking over the world. The parallels between this work of fiction and reality are unsettling and it will change forever the way you use the internet.

In this fast-paced and simply written book, the author has developed interesting characters while capturing contemporary themes concerning the power of the internet. This includes, how peoples' lives are monitored, the dependence of people on the internet, and the use of sensual images to control people. There is another theme, and that is how unscrupulous religions work. It portrays how followers are attracted into some religions and how they are manipulated by religious leaders. True Christianity is an underlying theme whereas man-made religion is challenged. The book exposes the manipulative methods of cults and sects, and how they might use the internet to advance their methods of mind-control. Sects and cults will not like this book. Likewise, the hyper-rich, technology elites in Silicon Valley will not like this book. But, you will love it.

Are you a user of the internet? You will relate to and enjoy this fast-paced read. Why? The characters in this novel are reflective of people you would find in society today. While fanciful, fun and a work of fiction, this compelling story is a study of the complex problems haunting internet users. Social Code contains originality in portraying universal problems in a unique manner. This book can be understood on many different levels and each reader will come away with a fresh view of the world in which they live.

Fundamentally, this action thriller deals with important themes in society, even how 'codes' are embedded into social systems and how they are blindly followed. Any sociologist or psychologist will relate to it, and Social Code is an interesting title that wisely sums up the book's theme. It is also a statement how religions can form and control their followers.

The theme of social conventions and how they impact society are simply developed and more sophisticated readers might question the fast-paced and adventurous manner in which the book is written. The book puts the reader at a decision point. Will you conform to a culture that is being directed by an elite group, where you may even be told to harm your neighbor? Or, or will you stand alone, like Doby?

Enter the virtual reality world of Social Code, the game to kill all online game . . . and your neighbor. This exceptionally compelling novel is for you.

Fast paced...but

This book is without a doubt a fast-paced novel, but there is more to it...much much more. At first, the storyline is just perfect, everything in the flow of the plot is just pure enjoyment. However, as you are going through the book, Cass Tell brings you exactly where he or she wants. He/She challenges the way our entire society is organized today and he/she uncovers some of the issues associated with recent communication trends. This is the first book published by this author and it is very likely to be a great success.

Cass Tell has hit the spot!

This is one of those books you find stuck to your hand while curled up on a couch in the middle of the night, knowing you should be going to bed, but there's no way to stop reading. The plot keeps you going, but more than that, you relate to it. In this story it's about domination and who wins, but more that that there are psychological undertones that relate to everyone, that is, dependence and how we get hooked to all kinds of things. And, it deals with the motivations of the people who want us to get addicted. While the book uses the internet as the prime example for this theme, the ideas in this book could be generalized to anything we get addicted to. I ask myself how Cass Tell started with such a simple idea and developed it into something that was so compelling. One can't help but applaud this author's imagination. A great read with some ideas that demand further discussion.

Amazing storyline

Amazing book, I could not put it down. It is well balanced on every aspect and has the rare ability to appeal to a wide public. In other words, it is very different from many commercial novels that are usually targeted heavily on one type of reader. This book immerses us in a fast moving adventure and really stimulates deep thinking through the contemporary issues it addresses. Social Code is about our world today, deeply affected by the arrival (or the intrusion) of the Internet in our lives and in our homes. It creates a new balance in the way we communicate and get information, including how other people get information about us through the footprints we leave while surfing the web. This adventure has incredible depth and is very well balanced between psychology and action. I would definitely recommend this book and I can't wait to read other books from this author.
