So Great a Salvation: Lenten Devotions on Romans 5.1-21

Romans 5 is a central passage in the New Testament on the doctrine of salvation. It is central to Paul's argument in his letter to the Romans. However, many interpreters have been held captive to some views that stem more from the high middle age and the Protestant Reformation instead of being guided by the contexts within which Paul wrote the letter. In this series of devotions Deepak takes the reader through Romans 5 by focusing on the contexts of the first century when Paul wrote this letter. He also takes the perspective that Paul was a first century Jew rather than a Greco-Roman philosopher and that, therefore, we must interpret Paul's writings from a first century Jewish perspective. By doing this, Deepak uncovers some gold nuggets of truth, which were hidden over the centuries and that enable us to see just how great a view of salvation in Jesus Paul had.
