Anna and Lisa Gu, talented award winning authors and illustrators, are identical twins born in Shanghai, China, in 2008 and moved to TX in 2014. As animal lovers, they started writing chapter books about animals in third grade. They won four awards from 2023 Scholastic Writing Competition, including two Silver Key awards and two Honorable Mention awards. Anna wrote this book in sixth grade, and drew the cover picture and all the 47 illustrations. A puppy with an interesting personality, Snowflake has a complicated relationship with Oscar, the brave dog in Book 1 of the series who also has a strong personality. Like Oscar, she is also obsessed with becoming a hero, but they are very different too. While Oscar believes in honesty, Snowflake believes she must lie, which is what her mother had taught her to survive since she was little. All her friends think she is evil and annoying and want her to change, but she doesn't care. She never questions her mother's advice on lying until she meets Cherry, a special happy and chatty bird, and they become very close friends. Snowflake learns lessons from both Oscar and Cherry. It is not easy to change, but Snowflake makes a lot of effort to learn from her mistakes. However, even after she's changed, her friends still doubt her, and she has to prove herself. Can she finally reconcile with her other friends? Can she eventually become a hero like she always wanted?
