Whilst the world now seems to be awakening to the reality that sustainability is perhaps the biggest single factor affecting global economies, environmental survival management, and human development, there still remains a lot of resistance to change and acceptance of the challenges ahead. The recent pandemic issues have helped to highlight, the sustainability factors that have been repeatedly raised over the past few years. Cities are waking to blue sky and clean waterways for the first time ever for some. The forced close down of industries and the garaging of vehicles has demonstrated what the difference can be. The challenge now is to ignite a new realisation of sustainability and how it can be integrated into all or lives. Today, the media is full of stories dedicated to the impact of climate change and its effects. Glaciers are melting at alarming rates, impact on tourism, agriculture and sea levels are providing ongoing challenges to the global environments. The impact is also affecting social, economic and community environments. Action is needed to deal with these challenges. the motto to move forward needs to include: ALL LIVES MATTER ALL ENVIRONMENTS MATTER Much of discussions is either high level scientific reports or environmental activists. To many, both of these views are considered to be extremist and therefore not being listened too (or understood). The authors considered that there was a lack of simple language books that dealt not so much with providing answers, but just presented information in a simple manner and therefore promoting a greater level of questioning, debate and consideration. For this book, the "snow" country was chosen because of a collective fascination with snow. Snow is one of those magic mystical wonders of nature, but it is also so very sensitive. Too often, there has not been time to "stop and smell the roses" or putting it another way - no time to stop and contemplate the real issues and the "WHY factor". Why should we think about these issues - why do we need to consider the broader impact of what we are all doing - why are we doing it? It is hoped that by compiling this series of books, there will be a greater awareness of the philosophy of "STOP, THINK, CONSIDER, RETHINK, RECONSIDER AND IMPLEMENT then RETINK - AND - RECONSIDER REGULARLY TO SEEK THE BEST POSSIBLE OUTCOMES FOR ALL".
