Meet "Sniffy" -- the brave little dog who "wins by a nose"! "Sniffy is a beagle hound who always has his nose to the ground." But his young owner, Tommy, doesnt want a dog that just sniffs and sniffs... This description may be from another edition of this product.
We have a beagle as our family pet and my nieces love to visit to play with Ranger. When I was shopping for Christmas presents I had to get this book for them. They love the story and the drawings. They love the fact that this book totally captures the truth about how much a beagle's life is ruled by his nose.
One of my daughter's favorites

My daughter adores Sniffy the Beagle, and I love the original plotline and illustrations, too. This is a sweet little tale with a good message about celebrating our unique abilities (even when they're disguised as flaws!). The story and illustrations deserve 5 stars; the one lost star is because of a couple of places where the rhymes and meter went awry. This is one of the few books I don't mind reading again and again.
Sniffy is no "Underdog" but he is a hero!

Five stars for Sniffy the Beagle! a brave little dog who becomes a hero, by being just who he is. Sniffy is no "Underdog"! He saves the day with just his own god-given beagle talents, fortified by old-fashioned virtues of courage, hard work and commitment. Kids today are barraged with super-heroes, each of them able to perform super-human feats, effortlessly, just by donning a special outfit that instantly imbues them with special powers. It is so refreshing to read a story that demonstrates that one does not need super-powers to make a positive difference in the world. In his little green uniform, Sniffy faithfully and courageously fulfils his duties. Compared to the super-human feats of "Underdog", his red-sweatered super-canine counterpart, Sniffy's achievements may be more modest, but his story packs a powerful message: You can make good things happen -- just by working hard to do the best with what you've got. I loved this book for its delightful rhyme and expressive illustrations, but most of all, for the "simple secret of its plot".
Sniffy, the Beagle

As my wife and I were searching for a POD publisher for our children's book, Santa and Sam's Big Secret, we ordered this book just to see the quality of work put out by Outskirts Press. Not only were we thoroughly impressed with the quality of printing, but as retired educators, we were very impressed with the story line of the book. The story is an easy and fun read with absolutely delightful cartoons to go along with the story line. Our daughter is taking "Sniffy" to the school where she works to share with her second graders. Dr. Eagle and her cartoonist, Gerry Rasmussen, did a wonderful job with this book. We can only hope that Santa and Sam's Big Secret will do as well when it hits the bookstores this summer!
