"The back of my dress, which dangled over the open flame, caught on fire, and I realized a fiery monster was attached to me. I stood up and ran in every which direction; I became a mouse in an invisible maze. I came to my senses when I saw my sister Janie raking leaves in another portion of the yard. I ran over to her, but all she did was try to press the fire out with the rake she held in her hands. Her efforts did nothing to relieve the situation but only wasted valuable time.
