The New Technologies and its modern means of communication have generated setbacks in the practice of written language in society. The impasse linked to the use of SMS in contemporary communication has generated the problem of digital and modern writing. Thus the linguistic particularity of the Ivorian SMS language is symbolic of a new era in digital writing. This lexico-semantic choice in SMS allows users to assert or claim their linguistic identity. However, the SMS lexicon will undermine the fundamental rules of the standard language which seem inert in time and space. This study thus evokes the question of SMS language under a pragmatic glance.
