Spending eighteen summers at my Nana's farm has been the highlight of my life. Learning how to work everything has taken many summers of trial and error but it's a passion. Doesn't hurt that the Peak farm adjoins hers and their oldest son is just a few years older than me. He's always helped me learn to do everything including climbing trees and how to swim. Nana is convinced we are star-crossed lovers, but he treats me as one of the boys. No one in either family Wilkin or the Peak has ever fallen for each other in hundreds of years that the farms have been in the families. Now I'm not saying I'd kick Jerrie Peak out of my bed. Will my path lead me to be a city lady like my mom or will it lead me back to my family roots? Are we star crossed-lovers who haven't slowed down enough to truly see each other?
