The pressing necessity of green energy integration has made it crucial to maintain the stability and resilience of the grid. To achieve this, strategic operation plans for various contingencies using simulation and hardware platforms have been already developed. To explore it, the book has analysed large system disturbance and its restoration plans using the real network. Hence, the book has focused on developing a laboratory simulation replica of an actual system analysis on PSS/E, to identify the exact causes, and sequence of events to avoid future failures.To restore power system network after failure, requires critical skills, including deployment of appropriate strategies based on factors such as duration of the blackout, the location of black-started units, interconnections with neighbouring systems, generator capabilities, and selecting appropriate restoration paths. Recent advancements in computing and simulation technology have allowed for the shift of system analysis from offline to online, using EMT-based real-time platforms as Opal-RT, RTDS, and Typhoon. This bridges the gap between real-time responses and the simulation environment using HIL for complex system.
