A must read What makes this book important and timely to you right now? It's important because it is your career, no one else's, and you need to take charge of it. If you're not driving your career someone else will. It's timely because I'm going through it with you. My current contract ended abruptly, to the corona virus. I am starting a new job search, deciding who I want to talk to, sending out an updated resume, scheduling calls and in-person interviews, and finally, negotiating terms like pay rate and benefits. I didn't plan it this way. Three months ago, my contract was solid but now I find myself in the middle of the corona virus, a stay at home order, a gig economy, twenty-five percent unemployment, and a second potential stay at home order out ahead of us. My competition just went up exponentially and it's not getting any easier, but... I've done it for 35 years and I'm not giving up. It doesn't get any more real than this.
