Small Town Smuttle - Red Wolf Lake

By Gary Ryan

Gary Ryan only wanted one quiet summer.

After years of being in the national guard, graduate school, and never staying in one place for long, returning to his father's cabin on Red Wolf Lake seemed like the perfect chance to slow down. Help fix up the old family place, spend time with his loyal mastiff, Marv, catch a few fish, and maybe figure out what came next.

That plan lasted exactly one afternoon.

A broken Jet Ski introduces Gary to a captivating woman with a complicated family, a retired fishing captain with moonshine and endless wisdom, a lakeside bar full of unforgettable characters, and a community that quickly makes him feel at home. But beneath the postcard perfect waters of Red Wolf Lake lies a decades old criminal operation built on gambling, drug trafficking, and secrets powerful people will do anything to protect.

When an unexpected friendship turns into an FBI investigation, Gary finds himself caught between loyalty and justice, friendship, and betrayal.

As Labor Day approaches, the legendary Insanity Boat Docking Tournament becomes far more than a lakeside tradition. It becomes the final battleground where one perfect throw could save a town or cost Gary everything he loves.

Filled with humor, heart, unforgettable characters, and the kind of small-town charm that hides extraordinary secrets, Red Wolf Lake is a story about friendship, forgiveness, second chances, and discovering that home isn't always the place you expected to find it.

**Small Town Smuttle - Red Wolf Lake is the third installment in the series. Some names have been changed. Most of the stories are exactly as ridiculous as they sound.**
