I gained a great love and respect for the game of baseball from my father beginning at a very young age. All children who played had great support from their families, our whole small town and the surrounding farm community. This was not unique to just my little town. All the small towns we played against were like that. Literally, everyone within a three to four mile radius knew who you were. Playing in front of big crowds, even in Little League, made for a lot of special memories
