Each week as I prepare to write my blog, I learn more about kidney disease. I like that because spreading awareness of kidney disease is my payback for all the good in my life. I've learned so much about kidneys since my own diagnosis in 2008 that I'd be pretty selfish if I didn't share. That's where my blog, SlowItDownCKD , comes in. Just make sure you, your family, and your friends are knowledgeable about kidney disease. Don't allow them - or yourself - to be the one out of seven people worldwide who has kidney disease and knows very little about it. Even more importantly, don't let any of you be part of the 90% of chronic kidney disease sufferers who are as yet undiagnosed.
