Slow and Steady Doesn't Win Too Many Races: A Below Average Ultramarathon Runner

What is there to take away after running 30,000 miles over the course of 10-years, all mainly before sunrise each day? Well, for me at least, that I'm not all that fast, and chaffing is inevitable. What initially started out as a dare to run 10 miles in a local city race, has blossomed into countless stories after completing 60 marathons, and the training, friendships, and lessons learned along the way. During races, runners mainly talk about one thing, and that's running! I've had the pleasure of hearing some of the most inspiring and truly hilarious stories, and what lies within these pages are just the ones which I've chosen to share with all of you. When asked how my recent marathons and ultramarathons have gone, instead of recounting the story out loud, I've always wanted to take my family and friends along the journey with me, through the inevitable ups, downs, uncertainties, but more importantly, the triumphs that come with crossing each finish line. That is my goal for this book. With sometimes brutally honest detail and imagery, I did my best to highlight not only the high points and lessons learned along the way, but also the seemingly inconsequential and more dicey moments as well. I hope you will enjoy.
