This book is a collection of personal stories that the contributors wanted to share with the public. The reason for sharing stories was to entertain, educate, connect, and inspire. People will most likely see themselves or someone they knew in these stories. The topics are quite diverse: family, pets, school, surprises, changes, and life lessons. This book is meant to leave mature readers with a more positive outlook on life and our journey through it. Doug Bowen is known for his resounding, infectious laugh, his sense of humor (sometimes slightly inappropriate), his memory (filled with interesting trivia), and the fact that he always seems to have a story to tell no matter what the situation or topic. He completed his BA at the University of Nebraska and his MA at the University of Hawaii. After working in Japan for several years, he settled down to teach English to foreign students in Southern California. He has traveled extensively to visit old friends (some former students) and to make new friends everywhere. He spends his free time reading, writing, and gardening.
