Sliding Across Mountains is a book about the power of friendship. In a small town in Tennessee, a writer, a mother, a widow, and a parish nurse form an unlikely friendship and a curling team. These four ladies learn more than sliding rocks down a sheet of ice. They learn what they can accomplish with a team of support and love is not always on the rocks.
A debut novel with important lessons on women's relationships

If you like stories about women's relationships and friendships you will like this book! I particularly appreciated that they were not all the same age so there were different perspectives of life stages. Their relationships seemed to develop quickly but based upon trust, honesty, and caring. As a bonus I learned something about curling. Another bonus you will find is the poetry included at just the right time. I did have a hard time understanding the use of mum rather than mom in a book that takes place entirely in the USA. That is a very minor part of the book. I encourage you to buy the book and read the book. I am sure you will not be disappointed. I hope to see more from this author.
Trisha Maxine is my new favorite author.

The first page of the book is a poem. I was drawn in immediately. Her prose reads like poetry. The characters are so well developed, I found myself laughing and cheering for them. I wish I could be friends with all of the characters.
Curling is what brings the ladies together. Although, I am not very sportsy, this book was a great read for the love and support and importance of friendship.
