This mystery is full of realistic, yet sympathetic, people living on the edge of respectability, much like the characters in an Elmore Leonard novel. The plot, like an episode of Seinfeld, is made up of disparate parts that come together in a surprising, delightful, and completely satisfying, conclusion. Having grown up in Hamilton, Ontario (the site of the story) many years ago, I can also attest to the veracity of the descriptions...

Slide in all Direction What I really liked about this book is that it reminded me of the film Pulp Fiction. It had all sorts of interesting plot twists and would make a good movie. I noticed that the author has had rave reviews for his other books in Publisher's Weekly and was once compared to Robin Cook
