This book didn't have a synopsis available so I ordered it primarily on the basis of another review indicating that it talks about emotions and how to work through them. I found it because I will be purchasing an alpaca farm soon and I liked the idea of introducing the animals to my children more often in our literature, so I specificallysearched for alpacas in children's books. The book does illuminate emotions, but it has a very spiritual sense to it. It guides children to cast their burdens on alpaca as if alpaca is a God figure who is always with them. This doesn't align with my beliefs spiritually and I think I am likely to part with the book. Also, the alpacas do not look like real alpacas. They are cartoonish figures drawn with short necks and walking on only two legs. This was a minor issue, but I thought it was silly that they don't even look recognizable as real alpacas.

I have been loving the slumberkins series. They explain feelings in a simple and easy to understand ways and how to work through them. The end includes tips to help parents guide their little ones through as well.
