Children are a gift

Detective Joi Summers and her partner Russell Wilkerson are called to handle yet another grisly case in Chicago, IL. But this one has many arms and if they are not careful the killer might get away with murder. I enjoyed the twist within the story as well as the relationships between the characters. The story opens with the gruesome murder of a young girl which will definitely tug at your heart long after you finish the book. As you continue to read you are committed to finding out who would do this to an innocent child. Then your next emotion comes with many questions Why? How? Was it you? then How could you? Another Joi Summers mystery I absolutely enjoyed, the storyline flowed with the tenderness of a rose petal. Peters has a way of drawing readers into dark places they might not want to go. And this time this reader definitely was not looking forward to where this title took her. However it was a story that had to be told and Peters handled it’s delicate moments with care, class and finesse and I’m so glad I didn’t allow the nature of the story to deter me. Peters does an excellent job weaving strands of the story together and developing engaging characters you like and possibly might despise. Great job!
