4 Delightful Divas!

I really enjoyed Slave Girl by Claire Thompson and in the end, the love story these characters found came through for me. I was a little unsure when I started Slave Girl. The blurb concerned me about the severity of the BDSM that would be found within the pages of the book and about whether the BDSM would come from a loving standpoint or be merely gratuitous and hardcore. And, some of the scenes are fairly hardcore in that they are meant to portray the violence possible with this lifestyle when one places their trust into those they should not. That being said there were many extremely erotic and lovingly masterful scenes in this book between our main characters and, true to form for Ms. Thompson, these scenes were exceptionally hot. Slave Girl starts out as a story of absolute infidelity by Jill; however, the journey of both Barry and Jill to acceptance and understanding of each other is quite enjoyable. As far as characters go there isn't a whole lot to like about Jill and quite honestly I think that was the intent of the author. I'm sure some would say there wasn't much to like about either Jill or Barry, but, with that, I would disagree. While Barry would never make the list of my all time favorite heroes, he might make the list of the best turn-around in a character from beginning to end of book. I enjoyed watching the immensely dramatic changes that Barry was subjected to throughout Slave Girl. I was impressed that an author could take a character such as Barry and believably transform him in such a short time frame. Ms. Thompson did just that. Did he make mistakes? Sure, but Barry learned from them and tried to fix what had occurred and that's a character that a reader can enjoy. Even though you may not love him or his choices, you can understand and appreciate his journey. Ms. Thompson is one of the best storytellers I have come across in the art of telling the story of a journey. Her characters always seem to rise from some point in their lives to a higher plane of understanding and acceptance of themselves and those around them. This is not to say that her characters start out from low points; it is more an indication of the vital growth potential in us all. While we may not be interested in following the path the characters took in this book, we can all see how the path they were on, worked for them. We can appreciate the journey these characters took to get to their happily ever after was precisely what they needed. Ms. Thompson has an unquestionable ability to bring characters to life for the reader and this book is no exception. Slave Girl is one of Ms. Thompson's older books and I can see her shift and growth in writing, although, I have to say, this is still an exceptionally well-written book. The characterization and descriptions of scenes are vibrant. The reader is drawn into each and every scene as if they are watching it on the television in full color with surround sound. A sensitive and erotic but playful look at BDSM

This is one seriously excellent book if you are into BDSM and D/s. I really liked it because it looks at a real couple and how they might fall into S & M. This isn't about some DARK MASTER having his way with a silly little slave girl. It's a modern, contemporary look at a modern smart woman and her sometimes clueless husband, and how her sexual misconduct leads to some very interesting results! Jill can't keep her panties on, and is unfaithful one time too many, and her husband loses it and spanks her little bottom and then rapes her!! Instead of being furious, she gets off on it, and away they go, into some very VERY sexy explorations of BDSM. I loved how the author brings in Paul, the master trainer, to add tension and a somewhat darker dynamic to the whole thing. It kept it from just being a super sexy romance, and it kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time. LOVED IT. READ IT and see why this one is consistently the top selling erotic ebook (number 1) for over a year!!

Jill and Barry have it made, but....

Jill and Barry have it made. They have everything going for them and it looks like a perfect marriage. Barry is a successful attorney and Jill is beautiful. But things aren't all they seemed to be. Jill has wandering eyes, hands and other body parts. Out of boredom, out of a desire for excitement, hoping to put a little more spice in her dreary life, Jill calls the plumber to fix the whatsit in the kitchen sink and ends up enticing him into sharing the whatsit he has hiding beneath his toolbelt with her. And Jill's adventures don't end there. Once started, she just can't stop, and continues her explorative escapades, checking out the fitness of her fitness trainer and .... Well, you get the picture. Sure, Jill is cheating. And sure it's wrong. But remember, this is Claire Thompson writing, and we know two things about Claire: that all will turn out well in the end, and that the story about getting there will be filled with the kind of good writing and spicy hot scenes we've all grown to know and love from Claire. So, as I did, you will want to stick with Jill, following her through her naughtiness, shaking your head in disapproval of her misbehavior while at the same time enjoying her adventures at least as much as she does, if not more. It's the only thing we can do, out of loyalty to our Claire. But back to the story. As expected, Barry finds out. And as expected he's hurt. And as expected, he does something about it. What does he do? Well, remember, Barry is a lawyer. And he does just what lawyers often do to solve problems: he draws up a contract! But this isn't the kind of contract Barry learned to write in Contract Law 101. No indeed. This contract is based on what Barry has learned on the internet, from a man named Paul, who trains slaves. Yup. That's just what happens. Barry offers Jill a contract that makes her his slave, firmly convinced that this is the only way to save their marriage. Jill signs it. Being a slave has never figured into her plans for her life, but she does love Barry, and she does want to make their marriage work. She signs the contract, becomes his slave. Barry takes a leave of absence from work so he can devote full time to her training, coached via email by the mysterious Paul. Now you may be thinking this sounds pretty ordinary for a slave story, but if you are, you've forgotten who wrote it. This is from Claire Thompson, remember? Just suppose something goes wrong. Just suppose things don't work out the way Barry expected them to. Wouldn't you be surprised? Well, don't be surprised if you're surprised. This is another excellent offering from Claire. I recommend it highly.

Very sizzling BDSM read!!

I have read lots of Claire Thompson, and this is one of my favorite! It's like reading about a friend, a real friend, instead of a fantasy. While I love Claire's fantasies of rape and submission, I especially liked this book because it takes a real couple who sort of stumble onto S & M. The husband finds his lovely wife with one too many repairmen, with her dress flipped up and the guy's pants down. In a jealous rage he spanks and then basically rapes her. But the conflagration of passion and lust that erupts between them as a result leads them to explore the darker passions of sadomasochism and sexual slavery. Enter the 'master's master', a mentor who teaches the husband, and then demands to take over and train the wife, leading to disasterous results. very very sexy throughout, and full of really erotic descriptions of sensual discovery and sexual torture. FANTASTIC!
